Farewell to President Obama

My wife and I have tickets to attend President Obama’s farewell speech at McCormick Place tonight. We are both getting off work at 2 to get ready to go. She said we are going to Show Up and Show Out so I was told to put on one of my Sunday suits Lol She loves to boss me. I’m excited to see what he says tonight. I have never fully supported him. I don’t support a lot of his policies and I have always believed his foreign policy has been the weakest since the Carter Administration. It’s been a disappointment year after year watching him speak a big game with little or no real action behind the words. He is a rubber stamp President and I don’t agree with most of what he says. That being said my wife is a huge supporter, she has met him a few time and proudly displays 2 photos of herself with both POTUS and FLOTUS in our home. I didn’t want to hang them up but she lives there too and is welcome to share her life with all of us. She was very proud of them and that’s why she wants them hung up. So I did what she wanted.

We are going to go out for a nice dinner together before we go to the speech. She wants Japanese food which makes it a lot easier for me to find something to eat. Sarah is going to watch the boys tonight for us. I’m looking forward to the final words in Obama’s last public address. I hope ya’ll will be watching too.

If you would like to hear or read some of Obama’s speeches I found a website that has archived all of them.

  1. What do you know about the Carter Admin’s foreign policy? You seem to be too young to remember.
