Ricky Martin & Egg drops

Saturday afternoon my wife and I flew out to Las Vegas. Lindsay and bought us tickets to Ricky Martin’s show. It was supposed to be really good but I wasn’t so sure. I thought he was one of those performers that uses autotune because his real voice needed help. My wife said no he will do something acoustic and I will see that I’m wrong.

We got to Vegas and Lindsay picked us up in her yet another new car. We got back to her house to get ready for dinner. Dave was nowhere to be found. I asked where he was at and she just waved her hand which means don’t ask. I thought I would ask her privately later on. We got cleaned up and headed out to Gordon Ramsey’s Steak. I know it’s one of Lindsay’s favorite places to eat and they do have options for me. We got to our table and there was Dave. I gave him a quick hug and said good to see you. He said Lindz had sent him on an errand and she told him to meet us here for dinner. Glad to hear he’s still around and he didn’t get tossed like poor Ben did Lol I like Dave. He’s younger but it seems to work out. Lindsay is really one to stay in a relationship for too long so Dave is doing good. He works a lot and I think that helps. That way she doesn’t see him every single day. He keeps some stuff at her house but he still has his own place. She says he’s good for 2 things Lol I don’t want to know.

We ate a very delicious dinner and I was tempted to try a bite of my wife’s Beef Wellington. It’s the specialty there. It smelled gross but she said I needed to try it. I didn’t but I do admit I was curious. I know a specialty dish has a lot of great flavors to it and I do try to keep an open mind when it comes to carnivore food.

We left dinner and made our way over to the Monte Carlo. Oh before I get to that. Did you guys know the Bellagio burned up in a fire? Just part of it. Lindsay told us about it while we were driving the Strip. It looks like crap. I know they will rush and get it fixed. I’m just glad that’s not one of the casinos we invest in.

We got over to the Monte Carlo and walked around a little. We were early but excited. My wife went and bought a few things and found a concert shirt. She bought one for Lindsay and asked if I wanted one Lol No thanks. I like my stripped button down oxford. Thanks anyway, dear.

Ricky  Martin is a very good singer. He has a lot of dance numbers and he sings some songs with Spanish mixed in or a full song of Spanish. I didn’t know that. I am still learning Spanish so I picked up on most of it. He dances a lot his backup guy dancers (Yes, really) danced everywhere. It was a great show. I was impressed. Dave and I just sort of sat and enjoyed it. Lindsay and my wife decided to try to get his attention and my wife did manage to get a close up with him looking right at her. That actually was pretty cool. She was excited and by the end of the night she was on a high. I’m happy she got to see him. I asked if she would like to see him again because he will be in his residency there later on. She said yes and she would like to bring some friends. Fine with me. Next time I will stay at Lindsay’s with Dave or go meet up with Ben for dinner. Lindsay said it was a lot better than the Jennifer Lopez show but not as good as and I quote “The Britney” Lol She has seen Britney Spears 11 times now. She loves that show.

We made it back to Lindsay’s house and I took a quick shower to wake myself up more. A cold shower usually does that for me. We got our things gathered up and she took us back to the airport. The ladies chatted while I was getting things prepped. We took off and made it back to Lincoln, Nebraska at Early Dawn O’clock. It was exhausted. I admit it. My wife passed out while I flew. I could hear her kick back her chair and the shoes came off. When we landed she kissed my cheek and said that was a fun date night. I just laughed and said too bad we couldn’t finish it up like I wanted to Lol She smacked me and said later.

We got back to my cousin’s house and tried not to wake anyone up. We had to get up early to get the boys ready for Easter Mass with the whole family. Now this is not the family Church I was kicked out of. This is the Church we all go to with Drew and my cousins. So all of my extended family came to Lincoln the night before or would be meeting us at the Church. I’m not allowed to attend our family Church and frankly I’m still offended by that. It pains me that I will never get to take my children there but each Church is different and this is exactly why I have found my own Church home in Chicago. They have forgiven me, I renounced my sins openly, and with open arms I was forgiven. Plus a big fat donation helped pave my way there. That’s the politics of religion. Any sin can be paid for. It’s true.

Easter morning with my sons. Now last year for Easter I put these bunny headband things on them and they didn’t like them at all. They were much smaller than too so when I pulled out the bunny headbands this time Heston let it sit on his head for about .0002 seconds before he said No and flung it off. I got Alex’s bunny ears near his head and he was already at No before I put it on Lol That didn’t work out like I wanted but at least they tried. Then it was time for a quick Easter treat. I gave my sons their Easter Baskets.

I would like to say here that by baskets I wish it was only 2. Lindsay and Dave sent us home with 2 baskets, Uncle Drew’s family gave us 2. My cousin and little cousin gave us 2. And some of my extended family gave us 2. I am not making this up, my boys had 12 Easter Baskets Lol We are saving the others for this week. Each night they get to open a new set. I think that way they get to enjoy the fruits of Easter a lot longer. It really has gotten ridiculous. If Lindsay could have fit it in a basket she was going to buy them a new tv for their room. She said the 32 inch I have up on the wall isn’t big enough. It is just the right size but she said it’s going to be replaced soon. Here we go again with her taking over. I mean I do realize if something happens to me the boys will go to her, not my wife. And I do realize she does get some input but she just doesn’t listen or accept when I tell her no.

Easter Mass at Catholic Church is pretty much the same. The only differences are the readings are more biblical than usual because it’s all about the Resurrection of Jesus. It also ends Lent which this year was a trip and a half for me. I didn’t choose what I would give up for Lent my wife told me what we both were giving up. I didn’t like it and it was hard. I survived because I was just being a big baby but still. After 40 days of being deprived of my habit-forming things she took away from me, I can see her point now. I always try to do something of vital importance so I can appreciate it a lot more when I get it back. I try to image Jesus’s resurrection but I still get confused. It’s such an interesting story. I have watched countless movies recreate the moment and all they ever show is he’s gone Lol Poof! Vanished. Where did he go?

We finished Mass and went over to some gigantic field for an Egg drop. I held my boys and after all of the eggs got dropped we all ran out to pick some up. If you have never been to an Egg drop on Easter it’s usually a local news helicopter who sponsors the main event and they take these huge bags of plastic eggs filled with small treats. Trying to wrangle 2 one year olds from getting run over by older kids looking for eggs like they are filled with $100 bills is hilarious. It stopped being funny when some kid knocked Alex over and he dropped the yellow egg he was holding. I picked him up and probably said a bad word to the kid Lol His mom heard me and frowned so we moved over to a quieter place. Finally I told my wife and Brandi to take them over there, I grabbed 6 eggs and then threw them down in front of them. They took their time picking each one up and putting it in their baskets. That seemed to work out well. Next year I’m going to teach my kids how to body check kids out-of-the-way like a hockey player Lol I’m just kidding! I will teach them how to do it faster though. In all Heston had 5 eggs and Alex ended up with 4 and a half Lol He lost the other half of one and we have no idea where it went. Brandi got 2, Heather 2 and my wife got 3. I got none because I didn’t want to play. Now as soon as Heston realized the eggs had candy he started crying and wanted to go out with everyone else. We left the remaining 20,000 eggs to everyone else and he was very pissed off Lol He let me know it all the way back to the truck.

I put all of the photos from this weekend on my Facebook this morning. That should explain the crying photos of Heston as we were leaving. He was not happy with daddy. I let them eat 2 pieces of candy each and that seemed to help.

That is one of the things I just don’t know how to do yet. How much Easter candy do you give a 1-year-old? What about Halloween? Now that they can grab their own stuff I try to limit it. I also want them to just be kids so I also try to figure out when enough is enough. I don’t know. I’m still working on it.

We left the field and went to a buddy of mine’s restaurant downtown. He just opened it this year and had the backroom all ready for us. He knows we’re Catholic so it wasn’t a big surprise when I arrived with 30 guests Lol Service was a little slow but the buffet was awesome! We all had a great time and everyone got plenty of time with the boys.

It was time to pack up and get ready to go. My dog didn’t want to leave. He loves Uncle Drew and decided he wasn’t going to get into his crate no matter what. I had to wrangle him in then he sat there and barked. I felt bad but we needed to go. We got back to the airport and Drew helped me load everything up. We made plans to see each other soon because he has a conference in Chicago in May. I invited him and his family to come to Ireland with us. He said they will talk about. His wife wants to go and I said just bring your kids and we will leave Stuffy ass at home Lol She laughed and hugged me bye.

What a fun weekend. It was very busy and I left out a lot but basically that’s what we did. The photos are on my Facebook for my followers on there so enjoy that. Yes those are my relatives and yes I do have an Ironman goatee going right now. It’s almost the 1st of next month so it will get removed and I will start growing my next beard combo. My wife says she likes this one so maybe I might do a variation of this. We will see.

Hope everyone had a great Easter. We are ass deep in Easter baskets over here so I think we did just fine. Have a great work week and I will update more later!

Love ya’ll!
