Is it summer yet?

Christmas is gone. Thank goodness. I love my family but I love the peace and quiet in my house more. We had a few days together to celebrate. None of which involved hitting a Christmas Eve Mass. My kids were not feeling that well and I was not going to go without them. When I announced that decisions a lot of the family said let’s skip it. I was shocked Lol But it was fine with me. I did miss it though. The Christmas eve mass is the best one of the year. It makes me feel loved, in sync with God’s will, and among my family and extended church family. I love going. Oh well. Next year.

The kids spent 4 hours opening up all of their gifts. It was ridiculous. Lindsay and Drew really went crazy this year. I did too though. I think as they get older my mind keeps thinking about the things they might think is fun as well as the practical dad gifts. Socks, new underwear, new coats and gloves, etc.

And for Christmas, Santa was extra happy with me because I ended up with something I’ve always wanted Lol I finally broke down and put it on my Christmas list only to find it on my doorstep a few days before Christmas. Santa wanted me to have it early. Fine with me! I love it, love it love it! And no I’m not going to say what it is.

We ate, opened gifts, ate some more, opened more gifts. When it was all over with the kids passed out in the Christmas paper and mess. My daughter had a bow stuck to her foot, we took a picture.

I just uploaded over 70 photos on our Family Facebook page for you guys to enjoy. It’s all of the last batch I hadn’t uploaded yet plus all of the Christmas photos. Yes we had matching pajamas. That was Lindsay’s idea. I wasn’t happy with little elves, I wanted Christmas batman pajamas but it was fine. We looked cool I thought.

Hope everyone is doing well. I’m very sorry to anyone impacted by the moron Donald Trump shutting down the entire U.S. government over his ******* wall. I mean geezus. It’s ridiculous. He’s mad some really stupid mistakes but this one has to be the top one. When is he fired? It’s soon, right?

I do not know any stocks at all. I did predict this stock market crash, 2 years ago btw, and am worried about everyone else that didn’t see the indicators all pointing to this happening. I don’t get any joy in being right. Please be sure you know when to sell off if you need to. Your money is your money. You can make that call and remove yourself from the roller coaster that is our stock exchanges.

So what’s next? A family vacation somewhere warm! After the new year we will be traveling very far south to enjoy some bright sunny days. We need it, I need it. A week away is just what I want. It’s going to be fun.

Anyone want to join us? Lol

Have a great weekend guys! I will update more next week! Love ya’ll!

Rowboat Book Club Book #72

The Help by Kathryn Stockett is a great book. I loved it I know you guys will too.

Twenty-two-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. She may have a degree, but it is 1962, Mississippi, and her mother will not be happy till Skeeter has a ring on her finger. Skeeter would normally find solace with her beloved maid Constantine, the woman who raised her, but Constantine has disappeared and no one will tell Skeeter where she has gone.

Aibileen is a black maid, a wise, regal woman raising her seventeenth white child. Something has shifted inside her after the loss of her own son, who died while his bosses looked the other way. She is devoted to the little girl she looks after, though she knows both their hearts may be broken.

Minny, Aibileen’s best friend, is short, fat, and perhaps the sassiest woman in Mississippi. She can cook like nobody’s business, but she can’t mind her tongue, so she’s lost yet another job. Minny finally finds a position working for someone too new to town to know her reputation. But her new boss has secrets of her own.

Seemingly as different from one another as can be, these women will nonetheless come together for a clandestine project that will put them all at risk. And why? Because they are suffocating within the lines that define their town and their times. And sometimes lines are made to be crossed.

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women, mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends, view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don’t.

Guess what time it is, almost?

Dear WordPress, I’m not a fan of this new version. I just did the updates, how do I go back? These blocks and the autotyper are ridiculous.

It’s been almost a month since I’ve posted. Sorry about that. This time of year is very crazy. I’ve been traveling locally to do a bunch of donation and charity events. It’s really fun and I want my kids to experience these things early in life. Speaking of which…

My kids are getting so big. They are all growing up so fast. I guess it’s time for a new one Lol In January I will be starting the adoption process 1 last time. 4 is it for me. I feel good about having 4 kids. I’m okay that I’m adopting all of them. I always wanted a big family. I’m not sure 4 qualifies as big but it’s more than 2. We are thick in Christmas time around here. The tree is up and decorated, the house is decorated, outside lights are up. A huge advantage is I had santa’s helpers (My former nannies) take my kids for the whole weekend so I could help Santa build all of the toys that needed to be built for some very special kids I know. The scene from SNL where Matt Damon kicks the dollhouse he was building, that sums it up Lol I can’t possibly build everything the night before it’s too much. Sidenote next time I’m getting the stores to build all of this sh**. NEVER AGAIN!

I’ve been dating a friend of mine, Jesse, for a few weeks now. She’s exactly what I need. We go out to dinner, we go see a movie here or there. She’s been my date to a few of the charity balls I attend. She loves it. I don’t know why I haven’t dated her before. I’ve known her for years but I think because she is friends with a certain ex of mine, that’s probably why. Not my ex-wife. I actually have an ex-girlfriend from way back. Jesse and her used to be very good friends and I’ve always kept in contact with both. Jesse doesn’t hang out with her that often anymore but they are both still friends. The ex-girlfriend and I used to screw around from time to time way before I started dating the woman I ended up marrying. It was one of those situations where I loved her, she loved me but our lives would never work. I kept going back to her because she was very smart and spiritual. We could talk for hours and all night long. We would see each other when we could but my traveling for work split us up. Now we just meet up for coffee after we drop the kids off at schools a few times a month. It’s nice and comfortable. We are much better friends….without the benefits.

Are you guys ready for Christmas? I hope so. This time of year can be stressful. I have all of my gifts bought. I hired someone to figure it out Lol It’s cheating I know but I had input on each gift. That sort of counts. Honestly I’m doing that again next year. It made my life so much easier. Life with no  nannies is going okay. There are days I’m going nuts but I have a handle on this. When my new daughter arrives I will get a nanny. I am going to be adopting a girl. I like the 2 boys, 2 girls combo. Peace is young enough now she will really love her little sister. I think it will take about a year and a half or more to get through the whole adoption but just knowing there is a little girl out there somewhere on  her way to me soon, I love it!

Guys, I’m eating everything I see these days. I’m working out but it’s not enough. I can’t help it. So many awesome vegan Christmas treats this time of year. I can’t help myself. I will get back on track in the new year. I never pig out too much like this but I kind of have the idea that this year sucked. Let me eat cake!

I love you guys, I just uploaded about 150 photos to my family facebook page. Check out the latest photos of me and the kids. I put 1 photo of Jesse and I on there. She’s the gorgeous blonde in the white and sparkly ball gown. And yes I already know, I look damn good in my tux 🙂

Have a great week Batfans! I will update more soon.
