Good morning #Batfans! I just uploaded around 400 photos to our Family Facebook page this morning. It took at least an hour to get things labeled and add the new albums. It is current so all of our holidays, events, and Hawaii trip pictures are in there. Yes, I bought some Hawaiian
We spent the weekend in Honolulu, Hawaii to celebrate my twin boys, Heston and Alex, 5th birthday! The truth is I just wanted to go somewhere warm. I looked at the U.S. radar map and no place was very warm. We had such a great family time there. The kids got to play, swim, eat everything in sight, and shop for new clothes and toys. I am so proud of how my little family is growing up and I try very hard to make our vacation trips special. My boys are at the age where they are going to remember these trips. I find unique and informational activities for us to do so they can learn new things as we have fun. I also have to be aware of their hearing disabilities and avoid loud, crowded places. It’s hard but it can be done.
At 5 years old my boys are getting an upgrade to their hearing aids this weekend. We will fly back to Chicago and meet with their doctors. I really hope we see some improvement. I’ve been very good about cleaning their ears and the hearing aids, nightly. These new ones are supposed to maximize their hearing up to 82%. I can’t wait. We are already at 80% so giving them an extra 2% is a big deal. I still need to wait until they are 8 and they can try out the different kind to see if we can get their hearing near 90 to 100%. That’s wishful thinking but technology these days is pretty amazing.
I received photos this morning of their birthday cakes. The big cake is a regular cake with a huge Incredible Hulk image on it. That’s for all the kids that want cake and ice cream. The smaller cake is a small vegan Hulk statue. My boys and any kid that wants to try a slice of vegan cake will have that one. I’m so excited. Thank you so much to Sheri Landry for making both cakes! She does amazing work and I’m very happy to leave her a glowing review on her business website later on tonight. It really looks like a mini-Hulk Lol I think my boys are going to love it!
To my boys, Oh geez. I’m already starting to cry. When I decided to adopt a child I had so much hope in my heart for a healthy, sweet, little baby. When I found out shortly after I agreed to adopt that it was twins, well, it knocked me down to my knees. I literally dropped the phone. From that moment, I have wanted you both in my life every day. I have tried really hard to be the best Daddy in the whole world and make your life safe and fun. You are both so loved. Your sisters, Peace
When we get home from school tonight, your house and bedrooms will be full of your favorite Incredible Hulk decorations. Your Aunt Lindsay has lost her dang mind and went way overboard sending all kinds of décor Lol I can not wait until you walk in and see what we do today. All of your favorite people will be here waiting for you. And then your birthday party is going to be the most fun thing you 2 have ever experienced. The carnival games we will set up and ready for all of your school classmates, neighborhood friends, and other family and friends to play. The pizza party will start as soon as everyone arrives and you will all get to watch a fun Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode in our movie theater while Daddy and the girls clean up and get everything ready for cake, ice cream, and presents! Your sisters have helped us pick out clothes, toys, and things they think you will love to have at your party. Your Uncle Drew and your Aunt Lindsay will be here. Your 3 sets of
I can not wait to see the look on your faces when you see everything. Happy birthday Heston and Alex! You deserve everything in the world. I love you with all of my heart and I hope you have a very special day today. I tried to make it something you will never forget. You are my 2 favorite
