Should we stay or should we go?

We had a family meeting Sunday morning about whether it’s time to go home or not. I voted yes, I’m ready to go. The other adults (Sarah, Brenda, Lynn, and Gabby) all voted to stay. I asked the kids, Heston said, Why would we ever leave? So that’s decided. We are staying in Hawaii for the rest of this year and for all of the upcoming holidays.

Covid is still not under control. The lack of federal response has been a mess. Our local area Denver, is doing well, another outbreak, doing well again, another outbreak again. I’m not comfortable with that part but I do miss my house. I have a buddy’s mom living there for now. She loves it. She’s able to work from home and still maintain the house and guest house. I am now considering getting one of the rooms redone to better suit what I want it to be. It might be the perfect time to get that part of the house renovated. It shouldn’t take more than 2 or 3 days. She can isolate in the guest house while they work. I’m thinking on it.

The boat I bought the family is awesome. We take it slow and kind of putter around our little island just looking at stuff from a different perspective. We’ve been out into the deep water on the calm days and have opened her up a bit Lol That was fun. Okay, well the boys all had fun. I got yelled at twice to slow down and I did right away. I love boats. I love water. I always have.

The kids are still doing online school. We did change school districts though. My kids are now all enrolled through Colorado/Denver school district. It was an easy decision. I’m not going into why but Hawaii school system is a completely different animal. I didn’t appreciate certain aspects of it and I pulled my kids. All of this virtual learning stuff is getting much easier. Peace gets her 1 hour a day to learn after everyone is done in school. She loves it. She’s going to love school when she’s able to attend next year. I’m excited for her. My daughter is very smart. She’s going to be smarter than me some day I already know that. I’m glad she loves to learn new things.

Everyone is doing well. We added a stray kitten to our family. We named her Kaia and we call her Kai or Kaia. Depends on the moment. She is a beautiful black fur ball with beautiful green eyes. She’s been to the vet and gotten a checkup. We think she is now 8 weeks old. She plays with Amanda and Bubba a lot. Penny, not so much. Penny has kissed her head a few times but that’s about it. Penny is the HBIC of our cats and she isn’t into teaching this kitten anything.

I’m finally feeling better. I had a head cold or allergies or a mild flu with no fever. Who knows. I went to the doctor and he wasn’t much help. My symptoms were not pin pointing one specific thing. I got medication for allergies and that helped out a lot. My voice is finally out of the James Earl Jones depths and I’m not coughing up a lung. Whatever that was I hope it stays away forever. That was a rough several days for me.

I did manage to get caught up on all of our podcasts this past weekend. I will be posting all 8 of those later today. Be sure to wander over to our page and click on all the links marked NEW. We just added that this weekend. I didn’t even know we could do that Lol I love our new platform. It’s much easier for me to navigate.

How are you guys doing? I caught up on all of your wonderful messages. Thank you so much for the support. I love you guys too and I hope you have a great end of September. Wow this year is flying by, huh?
