It’s that Time of Year again, Unbanning the Trolls

I used to unban the trolls from my blog once a month. Lindsay kept arguing to make it longer. I am pretty sure we have had them all banned since the new compatible version of the Ban plugin came out earlier this year. I’m feeling a little festive this year and will get in the holiday spirit a little earlier. The compromise is that I have to post the nasty comments/emails the trolls will now leave on my blog Lol They are like little cockroaches, they never go away.

Enjoy trolls! Well, and all of my actual fans and family/friends. I love you guys. I will do a big update soon. Things are crazy busy with school and with decorating for our giant Halloween event for the kids.

Hawaii Life is Amazing

Life in Hawaii is pretty darn good. This year is rushing by and I’m trying to get my head ready for the Holidays with no extra family or friends. I had such big plans for 2020 Thanksgiving/Christmas. Oh well.

The Canadian border is still not opening up. They delay it another 30 days each month because Michigan and other bordering states can’t get things together. It’s terrible all over the place and we still have no Federal response.

Thankfully the election is coming up and we can finally get rid of Trump. I’m still doing my phone banking on weekends and the girls are doing the text program. It works out because they can sit down for a few hours over the weekend and contact the people needing help to vote. We are fully immersed in Joe Biden campaign. I love it.

My kids are doing great. Sky had a little bug this week but it turned out to be just an upset stomach for a night and part of the next morning. Of course my heart sank when she woke up covered in throw up. I immediately thought Oh Here We Go! It was nothing serious. I am so blessed everyone is staying healthy. We are on the last big project of this property. So far we put new sand down the 1 mile stretch of beach, cleaned up the entire beach area, added a dock, added a boat lift, bought a boat, added jet skis, had a travel van completely rebuilt so I can take the entire family around in 1 vehicle, cleaned up the main house, fixed everything that had been neglected on the property for years. Our very last project will be digging a brand new well for water. It’s exciting stuff. The boys love the huge machines. It’s necessary to do it this time of year because of how much saturation the ground has received this year. We have been waiting about 6 years to do it. The time has come. It’s noisy over on the east side of the island but it’s going to be worth it in 2 weeks when we are ready to go. I’m excited.

I ordered a whole bunch of stuff for Amazon Prime Days. The boxes have been flowing into the house this week. I love it. Each day is a new day to see what we got. The kids have new shoes, new clothes, some really fun outdoor toys and we installed a net to play games with the kids. We had it lowered so that we could all adjust if it was kids vs kids or Adults vs kids. We have been playing baseball and basketball all year, I thought something different would be fun.

Things are smooth. Quiet. I love it. I am doing well. I’m worried about my friends and family back on the mainland when Cold/Flu season fires up. That sounds very scary. I hope you guys take care also. I pray for all of you. I hope your start of the Fall Season has gone well. I love you guys! I will update more this weekend.

Rowboat Book Club #94

This month’s book is about Animals and I’m excited for all of you to see the amazing photos included in this book. I love my dog and 3 cats. They do make me more human.

In her groundbreaking and best-selling book Animals in Translation, Temple Grandin drew on her own experience with autism as well as her distinguished career as an animal scientist to deliver extraordinary insights into how animals think, act, and feel. Now she builds on those insights to show us how to give our animals the best and happiest life—on their terms, not ours.

It’s usually easy to pinpoint the cause of physical pain in animals, but to know what is causing them emotional distress is much harder. rawing on the latest research and her own work,Grandin identifies the core emotional needs of animals. Then she explains how to fulfill them for dogs and cats, horses, farm animals, and zoo animals.Whether it’s how to make the healthiest environment for the dog you must leave alone most of the day, how to keep pigs from being bored, or how to know if the lion pacing in the zoo is miserable or just exercising, Grandin teaches us to challenge our assumptions about animal contentment and honor our bond with our fellow creatures.

Animals Make Us Human is the culmination of almost thirty years of research, experimentation, and experience.

This is essential reading for anyone who’s ever owned, cared for, or simply cared about an animal.

Halloween in Hawaii

This year we will be spending Halloween in Hawaii. We finally got all kids costumes in over the weekend. We tried them on and a few adjustments but it’s going to be awesome. The plan is for me to load up all of the kids into our Mule and drive them from house to house on the compound where each cabin will have an adult dressed up in costume. Then I take them into an empty house to beat the crap out of a candy filled Frankenstein pinata, then drive them back the same route where they get more candy from the adults dressed in their second costumes. Then we go home to the main house for a little Halloween party.

That’s the best we can do. I don’t want to take them to a Trunk or Treat event at our local Church and I am not going to do a traditional trick or treating with my kids. The cool thing is this will be Rain’s very first Halloween and Sarah is very excited. Her daughter has 2 costumes Lol One for the ride along and one for the party. She spoils that kid. I will be dressed as a Pirate. My costume is very cool. I’m excited. I bought costumes for Bubba and the 3 cats. I think it’s going to be fun. The kids are excited and they love each other’s costumes.

How are you guys handling Halloween during Covid? Is anyone going trick or treating to people’s houses? I told my friend that’s staying in my Denver house to flip the porch light off. I do not want anyone coming up to my house for candy. I prefer they stay safe and do something else and I don’t want to contribute to that mess. I hope everyone has fun but just expect a different looking Halloween this year.

I hope you guys have a great week. I have a very busy week and I’m all jacked up over Amazon Prime days. I’m looking for kids clothes and a few Christmas presents that I can hide. Love you guys!

I’m awake but I’m not up yet

I went to bed early last night. That’s an understatement. I fell asleep at 3:30pm Lol I had a busy weekend and overdid the chores. The house and yard are all cleaned up so it was for a good cause. I always forget Monday morning at 2am my time, my girlfriend Kate calls as she drives to work. We talk for a few minutes. It’s mostly me incoherently grunting through the phone call. By the time we are off the phone, I AM UP! And I’m not always happy about it. I try to go back to sleep, most of the time I am successful. But not this morning. Today is one of those days I’m up and I might as well get laundry started.

We are in full swing of plans for Halloween. We are not going trick or treating off of the compound so the adults are trying to make it special and fun. We will be decorating, throwing a Halloween party with prizes for best costume, scariest noise, fastest apple bob. All the fun things we used to do at my 4H Halloween party every year as a kid. I hope my kids have fun. I know the adults have been having a blast planning the whole thing out.

I was going to go as something else but now I’m going as a Pirate. I ordered my costume, it fits, that’s what I’m doing. The kids have options and are still undecided. We even got costumes for the pets.

Let me see what else is going on around here? I’m still working the phone lines for Joe Biden’s campaign on the weekend. I’ve signed 46 people up to register to vote. That makes me proud of what I’m doing. It’s taken me 32 hours to do that Lol It’s something at least. I have given a lot of information out so everyone knows where to vote and how to do the absentee ballots if they want. This election is so important. I’m doing all I can to get the word out about Joe Biden. He is not my ultimate candidate but he’s pretty good. I don’t mind supporting him and I know he’s going to win in a landslide. The other side is so batsh** crazy, it wouldn’t take much for our side to win Lol

Please make sure you are registered to vote. Don’t just assume you are. Check on it. You can do it online. IWILLVOTE.com

Have a great week guys! I might try to go back to bed for a few more hours. I love my girlfriend’s calls but it’s still 3:30am here. I need my sleep!
