Dubai 2017

We are in Paris now. We got in yesterday. My wife was so happy to see me. She is so big now. Wow. This baby is coming soon guys! We are officially 33 weeks in. We have 6 weeks to go. My wife looks so beautiful pregnant. I can’t wait to have more kids with her. If she makes it through this one. Talon is doing great. They went to a doctor’s appointment. He’s growing, getting big. My wife has only gained a few pounds since the last checkup which is good. She is trying to still stay active but she said she can’t do the things she wants to do anymore. I said that’s what the other people around here get paid to do, help you out. She said she no longer feels safe to walk Sam jr at night. She’s okay doing it in the mornings and afternoon. I told her with it being so cold I didn’t want her out anymore. I assigned that to the nannies and they are cool with it. They realize he has a lot of energy and if he gets in his 3 walks a day he’s a lot easier to deal with. Sam jr can be a handful at times. He loves to run around the whole house going crazy and then he will pass out and sleep for 2 hours. I really don’t want her to slip and fall outside trying to walk him. He gets a little anxious and wants to pull on the leash some times.

Dubai, where do I even start. We got there and decided to grab dinner after we checked into our hotel. Lindsay was craving some mediterranean cuisine so we found a near by place that had all the things she wanted. We ate, and ate, and ate. I guess airplane food just doesn’t fill you up. I was more hungry than I realized. After dinner we walked around a little. It was 75 degrees the first night we were there. How perfect is that?

The next day started a series of meetings after meetings. First with our office staff. Everything seems to be going fine. The guy that sponsors our company in Dubai was pleased with how things have expanded so quickly. I told him without his help we couldn’t be in Dubai and I really appreciated all of his help so far. We have been in Dubai a few years now and are finally seeing some bigger profits. That makes me happy.

The rest of the week was work, eat, looking around and going on adventures. A lot of fun really. Lindsay and I had some very nice talks about the direction the companies will go in under her rule. Again I stressed not to expand too fast and she said she has no plans to go crazy. She said she needs to start training people to take her Mexico trips for her so she will be more free to travel around. I agreed.

I can’t wait to be done working for a while. I do want to find my next path in life but I’m not in any rush. I just want to be home with my wife and kids for a while. A few months. I want to give Talon a solid month of my full attention. I have always done that with all of my kids and I think my wife will really appreciate all of the extra help she will have. I told her it will just be like when we brought Peace home. I will get up at night, she takes care of her during the day and when she needs an afternoon nap or anything at all, just let me know. At first she was trying to do everything and I told her it’s not a 1 person show here. We have all of these helpers. Let them earn their money.

Guys, I can’t wait to meet Talon. I am so excited. We bought the Batman outfit he will be coming home from the hospital in. It’s perfect! I’m so glad my wife lets me geek out on Batman when it comes to my kids. Even Peace has a few pink batman outfits.

Things are very chill this weekend. We spent the day hanging out and going out to eat. My wife wanted a few things from the mall so I went to pick them up for her. Lindz stayed home with her and they had a nice talk. I’m glad they FINALLY get along so well. At first Lindsay told me to “Get rid of that one, done with it” Lol My wife was so pissed when she heard that. Now they are really good friends. I needed them to get along because neither of them will ever be out of my life.

We will be going to bed early tonight. Lindsay and I have a long flight back home. Geez I miss my kids. I can’t wait to see them tomorrow. It’s been way too long. We were going to get back on Tuesday but instead Lindz needs to get back to Vegas sooner.

I hope everyone had a great week. I’m doing great. Got to see my beautiful wife and our baby. I got to hang out with my do and at least pet the cat a few times. Tristan doesn’t like me Lol

I will update more next week when I’m back home and back into my usual routine. Have a great weekend! Love ya’ll!

Home Sweet Home, Chicago

I am almost at the 10 year mark of living in Chicago. It’s been a great experience and I’m so happy to call this place my home. I thought I would end up living in Nebraska forever. I didn’t see any reason to go and I also didn’t feel any reason to stay. My move was a turning point in my life. One of those pivotal moments that you are scared to take but you do it anyway.

My businesses have all grown. I keep expanding trying to build an empire to leave to my sons. I’m also entering into 2017 knowing it will be my last year of working full time at this. It’s taking up too much of my family time. The day trips out of town were only supposed to be once or twice a week. My schedule is more like 3 to 4 times a week with my rushing home to eat dinner with everyone. I knew things would need to change. Having my babies my priorities are completely different. I can afford to retire early. I can afford to raise them, educate them, and provide for them. If I had a wife I may have a different outlook but I know it’s better to walk away now than to regret not having time for my boys when they really need me.

I’m going to start a new adventure soon. I have no idea what it will be. I will be able to work at it from home. That way my schedule is what I dictate it to me. My long time secretary Shelly is also retiring. She was my dad’s secretary and helped me grow from a small construction company into all of this. She has given her entire adult life to working for my family. I can’t begin to tell her thank you enough. And as she says just add another zero to the back of that thank you check if you want.

Chicago will always be home. I will keep my Lake house. It’s a great family home.  I will sell my downtown condo when the time to move comes up. I have already been to Paris and looked at daycare facilities, preschools, family homes and spent a lot of time thinking about if Paris is where I want to raise my kids. Just because I love it doesn’t mean they should. I don’t know.

Then there is Dubai. A huge jump forward in technology, government, development, innovation. My boys would be blessed to live and grow there. So many wonderful opportunities and they would be among some of the world’s brightest. It’s a mecca of education.

Or Las Vegas. Where Lindsay is. Where Auntie lives and would be apart of our lives forever. I don’t have a wife but I have a best friend that has been there for me on a monthly basis since my kids were born. And Drew my other best friend has a job offer there. My 2 best friends all together again. It’s the Dream we always talked about. It’s definately something to think about.

For now I’m going into this new year enjoying every moment. I don’t know what 2017 will

Sarah loves Dubai and Spain

I took Sarah with me on my trip to Dubai. She has always wanted to go. My office there is doing great. The money is starting to come in steadily and we decided to expand to newer services. They have a lot of regulation for out of the country business owners and we have been trying to figure things out. We are finally working with a great sponsor that has helped enormously. I had a great time meeting with my employees. We celebrated with a meal and bonuses. And then at night I took Sarah around to show her the city. We were able to see so many amazing sights. I had more time than I had last year for this trip.

Sarah enjoyed going shopping during the day while I was working. She got a lot of great Christmas gifts and souvenirs for her family. She also bought some traditional outfits for my boys. We haven’t put them in it yet because I asked her to wash them a few times to make sure they were cleaned up. You never know what you bring in your clothes when you go overseas. We finished up the trip with a special dinner and for about the 1 millionth time I thanked her very much for being our nanny. I told her how special she is to our family and that I never want her to go away. She said she thinks it’s a lot of fun now that they are getting older and she said it’s going to get a lot harder again as soon as they start walking. Right now we are just holding their hands and arms and they are stumbling all over the place. At least they are trying to stand up on their own. No one has taken their first step yet. We are all waiting to see who does it first. My money is on Heston. He is the more adventurous of the pair. Alex is a little more cautious.

I told Sarah we were going to make a quick stop for 10 hours. She asked where and I told her in Spain. She squealed with excitement. That is her number one place she wanted to see. I wasn’t sure with her school schedule and my boys getting more mobile if she would ever make it to Spain in the next few years. I had always planned for us to stop in but didn’t tell her until the night before. She immediately got online to pick the 4 places she wanted to visit in Barcelona. We quickly took cabs to each place. She was able to take photos and do a few Facebook live videos for her family and friends. She was so happy. Then I told her we have to leave. She was disappointed but I told her someday she will come back and spend more time. I know she will.

We got in very early this morning. By the time we got to bed my dog was barking, my babies were snoring and I just wanted a hot shower. I was able to sleep for 3 hours before my boys woke up. I got up when they did and they both started laughing. My boys are so weird. It was good to hold them again. I need them everyday. I miss them so much when I’m not home. I have a busy travel schedule for day trips the next 2 weeks. The good news is I am taking my boys to Lincoln to see my family. They will spend a few days with them while I head out west. I have to go to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Denver. Then I will be in Chicago for our family Christmas. And I will end my year with a few more day trips for work. I will be in New York City of New Year’s eve. I’m really excited for that trip. I plan to go down to Times Square to celebrate the New Year with some of my closest friends.

I’m working on writing a few posts to wrap up and recap my 2016 year. I’m so happy you are here reading this. My blog has been a great resource for people to find out information directly from me. Only Lindsay will have info that I want to put out there. My story is still going strong after all of this time. The more that gets said on the opposing side the more I fight to get the truth out there. I have always been honest and transparent. I have done my best to answer questions and give my comments on everything I find interesting.

I wish you all a great Holiday season. And I look forward to yet another year with all of you on my blog. 2016 has been a great year!
