Season 7 Episode 3 Recap

We check in 6 weeks later from the last therapy session for Meri and Janelle. Remember, good therapy is every 6 weeks Lol Come on. Meri might as well be in therapy with a jar of pickles. Could these 2 hate each other any more? Their issues all stem from the beginning of Janelle moving into the trailer Kody and Meri started out in. Meri gave up the master bedroom to welcome Janelle to the cult and Janelle didn’t like losing control over the money. At the time Kody and Meri spent like they actually had cash.

What turned out to be a $230,000 bankruptcy a few years later.

Read about all of the bankruptcy’s here:

Meri’s monthly income: $865.50
Monthly expenses: $6,101
Total assets: $104,892.91 (Includes $90,000 invested in their Utah home, 3 vehicles, clothes, furniture, etc.)
Total liabilities: $229,892.91 That breaks down into:
Secured claims (1st and 2nd mortgages totaling just under $137,000 and 2 car loans totaling over $7,000)
Unsecured claims: $85,612.73 (This looks to be mostly credit card and retail debt)
Some examples of the unsecured claims:

$2,756.70 – Sears
$3,298.73 – Discover
$1,539.88 – Lowe’s
$1,566.68 – Lowe’s (separate)

$3,863.24 – Home Depot Credit Service
$6,992.71 – CitiFinancial (for “consumer purchases)
$6,824.37 – CitiFinancial (for “consumer purchases)

I guess Janelle should have taken over sooner. Meri’s issues with Janelle came when she was pregnant with Mariah and they got into a huge fight. Janelle grabbed Meri by the shoulders and jammed her knee into Meri’s baby belly. That’s when the big split happened. And also when any possible relationship/friendship between the 2 ended completely. And obviously forever. I was the one that pushed Meri to forgive Janelle and try to work things out. That episode aired and the follow-up to that one when Meri hugged it out with Janelle. It took me a month to get her to do that much. I told her she had to let things go. As we all have seen now, she doesn’t let anything go. And she holds a grudge until the end of times.

Janelle is the one that wants to pass the peace pipe. Meri has no intention of working through any of this. She is going along. She wants camera time and sits there without any viable input or suggestion of how to fix it. You can tell she feels this is beneath her and its a waste of her valuable centerpiece making time. Oh wait. I mean painting time. I forgot she has thrust herself into copying the art of an at home art teacher. Please hold your applause and keep reading.

The best part of this episode was watching Janelle squish herself onto that love seat. They were thigh to thigh. Meri acted like every flea Janelle has ever had jumped right over and sunk into her socks Lol Wasn’t that the most uncomfortable thing you have seen all day? I laughed my ass off.

The reality is I had already given Brene Brown’s book to Meri as a gift. I told her how much it changed my perspective on my life. I gave it to her and I know she had been reading it. How funny it’s the exact book the therapist offered.

I’m a huge Brene Brown fan. Here are some great Youtube links to watch her in person. Great, great, life lessons.

So that’s about all for this episode. They will never work things out. Not until they both learn to lose control a little, calm down, let go of the grudges and most of all take responsibilities for all the rotten, terrible things they have each said and done to each other.

What a game!

How about them Cubs! In 2016 after 108 years of not winning the World Series baseball game my hometown Chicago Cubs finally won the big one. And I watched every out. I did get to attend some of the playoff games and really enjoyed it. I won’t do it again because it’s so much better to sit at home and watch the game on tv. I wanted to be apart of this season and really feel like being there made me a stronger fan. I can always tell my boys I was THERE when they played certain games. I kept my tickets and we are going to make a shadow box with some of my souvenirs. I want to always remember how hard it was to win each series. What a moment to watch with millions of people when Kris Bryant got the ball and with an unforgettable smile ended the drought by throwing the ball to first base for the final out. I will NEVER forget that. It was a huge party for the next several days and I will never forget the parade downtown. Honoring the men that brought us so much joy and watching the pivotal plays over and over on Sportscenter made it all seem unreal.

Since the end of the game I have bought World Series hats and t-shirts. I have went to the Cubs pop up store and their official sports fan stores looking at all the great products. My Christmas tree has Chicago cubs ornaments on it memorializing this year. I know I haven’t been a lifelong fan but it was something special to me. I watched the games on my couch and slowly won Sarah over as a fan. She didn’t care, didn’t know, and didn’t want to watch the games until she kept telling me to quiet down. She would stand there and ask questions and the next thing I know she would be sitting down next to me. We added 3 new cubs fans from my house this year and I couldn’t be happier. I know she wants to go to a few games next season and I will be happy to take her.

Thank you to all the players, workers, owners, and fans that made this year really special for me to watch and enjoy. I will never ever forget those games. No wonder baseball is such a huge part of family life in Chicago. You can’t ever take it away from them. The Cubs earned it.

Congratulations to all of the players for a great 2016 baseball season. And way to go CUBS!

Cubs Win in 10th Inning

Last night I hauled my family over to my office for a special family meal. I was going to take them out to eat but Sarah asked if we could watch the game somewhere else because the boys need their sleep. She was right. We did wake them up twice so I arranged to get the conference room set up with our big tv and a bunch of tables/chairs for everyone to be comfortable.

Lindsay and I got off work and split up. She went one direction to get the bbq and fixins, I went another way to get the pizzas and the chicken and salad stuff. Then I went to get the desserts and we met up at the office. She was already there setting up the tables for me and setting out the plates and silverware. The only thing I forgot to get was ice. Which worked out because I had to start hauling people over. The nannies helped drive both vehicles back and forth and I got everyone over in 3 groups. Man was that a hassle. Apparently some of my Aunts don’t want to sit with some of my cousins. It was musical chairs and I felt like an old dad saying Just go SIT DOWN Lol

We all watched the Pre-game Chicago Cubs show and enjoyed a meal. The game started and the first wave of airport bound family members started getting out of the door. We took a bunch of photos, we had a great few days together. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone. After they all left my employees with their families and friends that wanted to watch the tv with us came over. They helped us eat up all of the leftovers. Helped me clean up most of what we had and sat to watch the game. We still had plenty of food to munch on so it was actually really nice.

When it was bedtime for the boys Sarah took them home and left them in the care of Brandi who doesn’t get into the Cubs as much as we do. Sarah came back and was able to enjoy the rest of the game with us. I was so happy she was there. She has really enjoyed watching it with me. At first she was tired of me talking about the Cubs but I think they won her over with such an awesome series of games.

The game was incredible. I’m sure most of you watched it. It was back and forth. There was no clear winner. Just when you thought the Cubs had it locked down it went to crap fast. Lester came in and threw a wild pitch which scored 2. I almost had a heart attack. Then we came back on a great double by Ben Zobrist which scored Al jr! So great!

In the 10th inning when it was 7 to 6 Cubs lead we had to get 3 outs. Just 3. The first one was pretty easy, the second was a little tougher. At this point everyone is standing up praying. Please or Come on Cubbies. Or just one more out! And finally a base hit to Bryant who is smiling because HE KNOWS he has this play. Throw over to Rizzo who throws his arms up in the arm and we ALL LOST OUR SHIT Lol

We were jumping up and down, high fives, hugs. Dads and kids embracing, moms and kids hugging. It was awesome!!!!! I had so much fun watching the game like that I asked if they all wanted to do the Super Bowl like this too but catered and more comfortable chairs. They all voted yes so that’s a plan for next year.

Just hearing stories from everyone of how long they have been Cubs fans. The phone calls to people’s parents who were also watching the game. Our sales manager Jim called his dad and neither of them could even speak. His dad had to go out-of-town and missed watching the game but Jim told him doesn’t matter because you saw it happen. It was very emotional.

I was so happy to sit and watch the post game show. We all talked about how the Indians really did their best and they never gave up on the game. They made it so hard to win so thanks to the Cleveland Indians and all their fans for hanging in there last night. It could have gone either way. We had the better night.

And finally after 108 years, the CHICAGO CUBS are the 2016 World Series Champions!

cubswinI am not a lifelong Cubs fan. I am about 9 years into the Cub fan life. I appreciate all everyone has been through waiting. It really was an emotional event and I will never forget it. I ordered my Cubs World Series hats and shirts. I bought stuff for the boys too.

Tonight after work I’m taking my boys, Sarah, and Lindsay down to Wrigley field because I want to take some family photos. I want my boys to remember this photos. We will always be a Cubs family and I am so happy they won.

Great job Cubs. Thank you for an amazing season. Let’s do it again next year!

Game 6, The Cubs win!

1568552_1280x720  You know I have to talk about Game 6. I started out the baseball season using the same Twitter avatar I am using right now. It says 2016 is the year with the Cubs logo on it. I have been hopeful since pre-season when all of the baseball analysts kept saying watch out for this young Cubs team. I was able to go to some games and really see for myself how special the team is. And boy did they put on a show last night!

Drew and I left my condo and went downtown. We found a parking spot after 45 minutes of looking. We walked the 8 blocks to get in line. Man was it electric. Everyone was buzzing with hope and excitement. Drew and I had on Cubs Jerseys. He likes Bryant and I like Baez. We got inside and Drew got very emotional seeing Wrigley. He’s been to a few games with me over the years but this was totally different. We got the drinks and snacks he wanted. I found something I could eat. I wanted to get a hot dog but decided against it. We waited until the beer guy came around twice before I called him over to get my buddy a Bud Lol And wow did the game start out with a deflated hit by their lead off hitter. We looked at each other like Uh oh. But these Dodgers came to play. They know what’s on the line, win or go home. And right off the bat they set their intention. They were not going to give it to us. We had to earn it.

As the game went on and the home runs came in the entire section we were sitting in was loud, cheering, and singing Go Cubs Go. The guy that sold me the tickets was sitting next to us and I kept telling him thank you so much for this. This is something Drew and I could never live through again I’m sure. It’s so hard getting to the World Series and to watch my favorite team was very special!

Drew and I high-fived than hugged as soon as it was over. We stayed through the trophy ceremony and just sat there with the people around us not wanting to leave. Then we heard Wrigleyville is partying all over the streets so we went out. We hit one bar, then the next. We talked to complete strangers about being inside for the game. I bought a round of drinks and clanked my $7 bottle of water off beer glasses Lol It was so much fun. We got home early this morning. Drew was so drunk I had to call Sarah down to help me load him into the elevator. Uncle Drew did not attend Church with us this morning Lol He slept in. He was up by the time we got back, showered and trying to find some aspirin. I just uploaded MANY photos of me and drunk Uncle Drew onto my Facebook and his wife called. She figured he would party it up and she was right. She told me I’m not allowed to play with him for a while he’s grounded Lol So funny.

Lindsay is flying into Lincoln, Nebraska to meet my plane there. She is going to fly back with us and help Sarah with the boys. Drew won’t be much help but I told him I’m counting on him to help out. He said he will try. I said it’s only a short flight. The plan is to have a late lunch so the boys can get out of the plane a little bit. Then we will take off and head to Las Vegas for 1 week.

Auntie Lindsay’s house is not baby-proofed. She said it won’t be a problem she “fixed things” whatever that means. So when we arrive I will be setting up the boys’ room and getting started on baby proofing. I asked her to put up her bad stuff. She laughed and said there’s nothing bad in her house anymore. Yeah right. Last time she had a shotgun in a large vase by the front door. I told her put up all her weapons and she said she has a gun safe in the garage finally. That’s good news. It always made me uncomfortable how much she likes guns. And knives. She even has a sword for some reason although that did belong to Ben. And he refuses to come get it because that’s all he has left in her house.

I’m really excited to get my boys out to Las Vegas. Lindsay has set up some fun things for us to take them to. And she said she has bought them so much baby stuff I wouldn’t need to bring much. Just their diaper bags and some clothes. She said she has been buying baby clothes for 2 weeks in preparation. I miss her a lot. We have always been really close. Getting to spend time with my 2 best friends makes me so happy. I asked Drew if he could fly out next weekend with his family and he can’t. But he asked if we could stop by on the way home next weekend to have lunch and I said yes. We can do that. I can’t wait to see his wife and my niece and nephew. His kids are so awesome. I love them both very much.

We both have a family and it’s all we ever wanted. To raise our kids together. I told him I will be filing adoption papers for my daughter next year sometime. To start it out. And he said with my luck I will get her within a few months. Geez I hope not. I couldn’t handle that.

Church was really great this morning. Father mentioned the Cubs and said we are all praying for health of all the men playing in the games and one big shiny trophy to bring home to Chicago Lol We all laughed and enjoyed the moment.

If I haven’t said this enough the past week, GO CUBS! I can’t wait to see what happens in the World Series this year. I will be watching it from home. I won’t even try to get tickets. I want to be with my boys when the final game is played and by God’s mercy we win the title. I want to be there with them and not with a bunch of strangers. So I can say our family was together watching the Cubs win it all in 2016! Because to me that’s more important than anything.

Have a great week guys. I love ya’ll. Thanks for still coming here. Thanks for all the great comments. I have not gotten to any of them in months. Lindsay has kept the nice ones. The nasty ones of course get deleted and we block the nasty people. I’m so happy to continue my story. You guys have been so supportive of my journey. I can’t wait for you all to find out some big things I have coming up for 2017. Go enjoy your day. I know I will!

We’re going to Vegas, baby!
