We leave in the morning, #Dublin #Ireland vacation

We are all packed up and ready to roll out of here bright and early. Man my two boys have been a pain today. Sarah called me before lunch and asked me to come home. She rarely does that. She said they had been crabby at each other all morning and nothing she was doing was working. When I walked through the door they were both crying and angry, Heston had Alex by the shirt and was kind of whipping him around the floor, well the most a 16 month old can do. They were doing Fight Club. I picked Alex up and said Hey hey hey, NO NO! How many parents have said that exact line before Lol Then I picked up Heston and we all sat on the couch until they calmed down. I gave Heston to Sarah and she said actually he’s the one causing all of this. What??? Saint Heston as we refer to him Lol He rarely even has an outburst and even if he does it’s because he is laughing or excited. So I talked to him then put him down so we could walk into the kitchen. We put them in their high chairs and they were talking things out. I got them fed and managed to eat half of my sandwich before the food throwing began. I swear it’s like an overnight naughty switch got flipped on.

My wife called to see where I was at and said why do I hear babies crying in the background. I told her those were her children and it’s all her fault Lol She just laughed and said she has a piece of paper stating they aren’t her children legally but she will lend me some over the phone emotional support. I explained what was going on and she just said Good luck with that.

I got back to work and almost near quitting time my wife called with babies crying in the background. So I threw her the same line and she said YOUR SONS are driving all of us nuts, COME HOME Lol I said okay okay I’m on my way. This time when I got home Heston had his buzz lightyear in one hand and Alex’s leg in the other. He was doing a hitting motion but wasn’t even close to really hitting him. The issue was the intention was there. My wife said Alex tried to take Buzz away and Heston wasn’t having it. I took the toy away and picked them both up for another couch session. This time I let Heston go first to see what he would do and damned if he didn’t go right around the coffee table and try to whack his brother Lol He was a big brute. Alex started crying and then was trying to tell me none of it was his fault. My dog was barking the whole time letting me know it was all their fault and he didn’t get his puppy nap in for the day. My wife was frazzled, Sarah said she would come back after a shower because I guess during snack time she had a drink squeezed on her boob and she said she felt gross.

Is this how it is! Are these two little rugrats at the beginning of some naughty behavior that I’m still shocked and a little entertained by. I hope not. My wife said we are going to have our hands full when the baby arrives. Yes, I know. It’s going to be a disaster. But a very good one.

To all my fans, friends, family members who aren’t going with us, I’m locking up my Facebook/Twitter/Other accounts for up to 2 weeks. I know how much ya’ll will miss me. I may enjoy the peace and quiet so much when we get back to the States and head to Vegas for that 2nd week I may not turn it back on yet. I will not be updating my blog for at least a week. I will be taking notes though so I don’t miss any great stuff I want to share.

Thank you all for the great messages about our family vaca. It’s going to be fun and I really need/want a vacation. Wish us luck. We will in Dublin, Ireland for 7 days. Coming back late on the 7th then my wife and I leave early on the 8th for a week with Lindsay and Dave.

I pray everyone has a great 2 weeks and I will miss all of you guys. I will catch up on my messages when I get home. Have a great 4th of July, America! Stay safe and talk to ya’ll soon!

God loves you and I love ya’ll too!

More like a Grapefruit – 10 Weeks Pregnant

My wife is now officially 10 weeks pregnant. She is supposed to start showing finally. I keep talking to our baby and it hasn’t done anything. She said the doctor told her any day now she will start feeling our baby kick. I can’t wait to feel that for the 2nd time. With Ryan I just knew he would be a soccer player. He passed away at 7 months gestation so I got to do a lot of things. My wife made me download the same pregnancy app she uses. It’s called The Bump. You flip it on and it shows you how big the average baby would be. Today it’s a strawberry. I said oh no my baby is going to be huge, more like a grapefruit. I think last week it said a cherry? She doesn’t believe me. Right now our baby is 1.18 inches long according to this app. I think it’s probably more like 2 and a half inches long with legs out to…………………………..here Lol

We get to find out the sex soon. I think she told me at 14 weeks but I can’t remember. We are NOT having one of those reveal parties. I’m going to make a post the same time she puts it on her Facebook and that will be that. I don’t feel like we need a party to announce that. I’m not that much into myself, I swear. We both want a little girl. It’s more of a balance of gender thing but if we get a boy I will have that proud man thing going for weeks. Ryan was my first, I ended up with 2 boys not one. What’s one more boy in this house. My wife said anymore boys and she’s going to go nuts.

I showed my boys a strawberry this morning and told them that’s how big their baby is. They just looked at me until Heston tried to eat it Lol I said “Babe, Heston just took a bite out of his baby strawberry and she said tell him to not bite his sister” Lol

Uh oh look at the time. I got hung up making breakfast and getting ready for work. I thought I had hit Publish on this one. Spellcheck, Featured image, tags, Ok.

Publish!

Oh and read this neat article. I’ve been doing this wrong the whole time. At least I learned this trick today!

We are going to Dublin, Ireland

A one week vacation with my in laws, friends, twin sons and more. Oh boy.

This website has been my info guide for the trip. My wife rattles stuff off that I have to Google.

http://www.visitdublin.com

All I know is I’m not allowed to say I’m NOT a James Joyce fan and I’m NOT supposed to crack any stupid Irish jokes. I only have one Irish joke and it’s actually hilarious…but fine.

All I know is my father in law told me I’m going to try a “Proper Guinness” as soon as we land which means the airport bar. I had no idea the American Guinness was improper but raspberries were blown my way when I asked. My Irish wife’s family will be drinking our way across the tourist attractions. I think one of my brother-in-law was born in a bar. Or so they say. I wouldn’t be surprised. I know my wife was born in Chicago so that’s a plus Lol I asked in a bar and she said “In a hospital, duh.” Oh ok.

We are almost all packed up. The dog sitter is prepared to stay in my condo for the whole week. The kid is very easy-going. I told him no friends over. Go hang out with your friends after you take care of my dog. I have cameras everywhere and I know when my security alarm is Armed/Disarmed which will make me turn on my app to see my cameras. I hope that scared the shit out of him. I need to make sure my dog and her cat are okay. I mean he’s earning $1000 to sit on my couch, eat my food, and watch tv. I’m also leaving him $200 extra to buy groceries. Which means he will buy ramen and pocket the rest like last time. Whatever he does, that’s fine by me. I know he does a great job and our pets love him. Plus they are both very easy to care for. You walk my dog 4 times a day, let him out on the roof if it’s not too windy and he’s perfectly fine. All he does up there is bark at the pigeons anyway.

We are leaving first thing in the morning. Our flight is at 10am. I chartered a plane and I’m not flying it. However, my smaller plane I leave in Paris is being moved to Dublin just in case my wife wants to go somewhere in Europe for a day. I told her I was having it moved and she said “We are so spoiled, you know that, right?” I said yes. She said “How much does it cost us to move a plane over to Dublin just cuz?” I said I paid $1200. She just looked at me with her jaw dropped open. It’s a special trip. I don’t think that’s bad!

Ireland here comes the Coopers and my wife’s last name which I won’t ever mention that she still legally uses for her career (Insert a very Irish last name into your mind). It’s going to be fun. It will also be a disaster at some points and I will lay in bed asking myself why do I always do these huge family trips twice a year.

Weekend Update

This weekend was awesome. We stayed in the city and everyone got to do a lot of things they have been wanting to do. We figured out a very good schedule and finally got time to just be with the boys all alone. My wife and I decided to do what most parents do and NOT have a nanny when we went out Lol We lasted 2 hours. It’s just easier with a nanny or two. We tried. I realize how completely spoiled we are now and I just don’t know how we will mange without my 3 wonderful helpers. It’s going to be rough.

We took the boys to 2 places. A toy shop. They were allowed to pick out a few things and we picked out a few extra things so we can donate them to the Children’s Hospital. We went to the Children’s Museum and that was a really cool place. My boys are more into seeing things and just observing. Heston was the only one that wanted to go touch things. Alex stayed in my arms most of the way. When I put him down he just clung to me. Heston got himself a little girlfriend named Nina who followed him all over. It was hilarious. He tried to share something with her but she just took it away from him and he left us all know that was not cool Lol It really was funny.

We hung out at Navy Pier most of today. It really is a huge place and if you have never been to it you need to check it out. So much to do if you don’t mind a face full of wind. I really liked taking the boys around this weekend. We have been doing our best to balance being at home and taking them out. The weather has been pretty cool lately. Nice, sunny, cloudy some days. Hotter than usual. Not bad to be outdoors most days. I’ve taken my dog for nice long walks in the morning and the evening. We have a route we stay on and he really enjoys the time alone together.

My wife is growing our baby and doing a great job. She did eat pizza tonight but that’s fine. She can eat anything she wants as long as she is okay and the baby is too. She doesn’t want to get fat. I thought you did want to get fat during a pregnancy but she said it’s harder to take it off after a baby. Okay. I can’t wait to find out if we’re having a boy or a girl. All exciting stuff.

Speaking of that, we are leaving for Dublin this coming week. A whole week away. What are ya’ll going to do without me! I asked Lindsay to update my page if anything new happens and she said no. She doesn’t care. I said fine. I will just update it when I get back. I try to write a little each night after my boys are asleep. I want to document all I can remember about the trip. If I don’t get time I just try to remember it all and write it out later.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have a trip early in the morning so I won’t get time to update. That’s why I’m doing it now.

Have a great work week. God loves you and I love ya’ll too!

9 weeks pregnant, lets stay here

This time next Friday we will be up and getting ready to go to the airport. We have planned a very fun week in Dublin. Okay I didn’t plan it, I just said yes when my wife told me she wanted to show me Ireland. I’m paying for all of it so that does count, right? We are taking some of her family with us. The total number of her friends, my friends, her family, my family, my boys, nannies is up to. I had to go find the paper, 30. It was 31 but 2 weeks ago someone could not get off work so she bailed.

My wife is more excited about this trip than being pregnant, I think. Maybe not. She is pretty excited though. She’s happy to be off of work for an entire week. Her law firm won the big case she’s worked 4 months on but they did not get all they wanted. She said that’s usually how it goes. You win some you lose some. As long as the client is happy they do their best. I’m just happy she works to defend people who wouldn’t normally have the best lawyers to help them out. She does such a great job too. All of her bosses really like her and it’s not just because I own half of their firm Lol It’s because she is smart and savvy. She thinks outside of the box. A very attractive quality to me.

My boys are going to their very first overseas trip. I had them into the doctor this week to make sure everyone is healthy and okay enough to fly. We have the green light on that. I had all of my nannies also go get a checkup to make sure we don’t have anything coming on. The allergies around here tend to mask a cold or whatever so I want to make sure we have all we need. Sarah said she has lost 10 pounds in 6 months. She’s already really thin I don’t know why she was trying to lose any weight but I guess it’s “Swimsuit season, dude”. Okay, okay. If I had a quarter for every smartass answer I get back from one of the ladies I would have twice the amount of money I have in my checking account.

The two that aren’t going are Sam jr and Tristan. The cat could care less because he doesn’t even like me that much. I do try to pet him but he lets me know that my hand is just a scratching post to him. My wife can pick him up, carry him around, and pet him at her leisure. He really is something else. My dog didn’t like him at first either but they seem to get along fine now. It’s taken time. My boys loved him immediately and chase him around saying Titty titty Lol We are trying to correct that but they are too small to know the wrong part.

Speaking of which. My boys are going to be big brothers in January. We are already talking to them about the baby. We are already trying to include them. I mean everyone else is offering up baby names, when I asked my boys what should we name the new baby Heston said Huh Lol I said that’s what you want to name the baby, Yeah Lol Ok. I do tend to say that word a lot around them. They probably think that’s my name.

I asked my wife what we were doing for this weekend. I said we did the lake house. Do you want to stay in the city? Every single time I ask her that she immediately grabs her phone and said “Hold on let me check the weather” I already look at the weather before I ask the question so I know what choice I’m getting ready to make.

This weekend we get to stay home, in the city. She decided she wants to go to some of the festivals. Here are some of the ones we have to choose from.

Chicago Ale Fest
June 23 – 24

Country LakeShake Music Festival
June 23 – 25

Chicago SummerDance
June 23 – September 10

Craft Beer Festival at The Morton Arboretum
June 24

Ravenswood on Tap
June 24 – 25

Randolph Street Market Festival
June 24 – 25

We are going to miss Irish Fest this year and so are some of her family. Well at least one of the days. They can get drunk and loud the Saturday we get back if they aren’t too tired. My wife’s family loves to drink. A lot. I brought a case of beer once to a bbq at her sister’s place and it was all gone within an hour. I was shocked and she just said I was a Rookie. I don’t drink so I have no idea how to gauge such a thing. She said next time bring 2 cases and I have. After the drinking starts, the loud gets louder and the number of arguments increases as the night goes on. It’s like a really bad B movie with student actors. The best part is when her dad gets hammered and all of a sudden forgets all of his childrens’ names. That part is very funny. He starts yelling at all of them and they just pick on him more. He’s a very sweet man but when he drinks he turns into one of those Tv characters that should be off the air.

Oh my wife just came in and kissed my neck the started reading what I just wrote about her family and smacked the back of my head Lol I told her I trash my family on here too. Which I do. I also trash the nannies which she just laughed at.

I need to go get the shower because I was told to. She wants to mess around. So bye Lol

Tired but Happy

I got home around 2am this morning and my wife immediately threw her arm over me when I got into bed. She said how was your trip then went right back to sleep Lol I had to Hug n Roll her so I could get situated. This morning she has been quite chatty which is unusual. She’s blaming everything on the baby growing inside of her. Everything. It’s impressive. I have taken care of every single craving, so far. The only problem is she can not stand the smell of peanut butter. We aren’t allowed to eat it near her anymore. It makes her gag. It’s weird, I know.

Today I have to go deliver a speech. I wrote it in a hurry, I will just use it as reference because I’m actually a very good speaker. I’ve had enough practice. I don’t get nervous about these type of things, I get excited. I love sharing my knowledge with others. At the end I take questions and we always find out more than I realize.

Today is going to be another great day. Business is good, the family are all great, and my perfect little boys are getting so big. Heston is just chill. I have no other word to describe him. He’s been chill since the day he was born. I know, I was in the room when he came out Lol Alex is my tightly wound up baby. He’s always been a fuss and a half but he’s still perfect. That’s just his personality. We are still doing different haircuts on my boys so people can tell them apart. It does make it easier for me too. They are shorter than I thought but maybe at some point they start hitting a growth spurt again at 2? I don’t know. My doctor told me things grow when they grow.

This is the really fun age before we hit 2 and the dreaded Terrible 2’s kick in. I pray we all make it through that but I have a feeling it won’t be so bad. My wife is such a great stepmom. She really is! My boys love it very much and they go to her. They snuggle all over her and they both call her mom. She is going to be the only mom they know. I pray every single day she realizes how much I love her for loving my boys. She is the perfect fit and she is all I have ever hoped for in a wife. Beautiful, smart, so funny, and sweet. Everyone loves her. She has way more friends and family on Facebook and they are always saying such nice things about her and our family. She is really happy. I hadn’t met such a happy woman in my life. Her joy is intoxicating. I can’t wait to see our baby. We don’t know if we are having a boy or a girl but whichever one God blesses us with I can’t wait. It’s going to be a new adventure! 2 boys almost 2 and a brand new baby.

Hope everyone has a great work day. We are half way through, hang in there guys. God loves you and I love ya’ll too!

The White House is calling

Today myself and a few other Chicago area business people flew up to Washington D.C. to talk with the White House about business in Chicago and a few other things. I’ve posted about 20 photos on my Facebook and my family and friends are lighting up my comments section Lol I even showed off my boarding pass into the White House because no one believed me at first. I thought they wouldn’t.

We got invited months ago and I wasn’t going to go because I think President Trump is a moron. Our meeting was not with him at all. It was with other business leaders and the White House. They basically spent an hour talking about what they “plan” to do for all of our businesses yet when we asked what specifically the plan is no one had any idea. We did get a bunch of run around and we pretty much left there with no more info than when we went in.

It was still a cool meeting. We did not meet Trump or any of his buddies. Thank goodness for that. I knew we wouldn’t. We aren’t that important plus I didn’t vote for him. I had a very good afternoon either way and now I get to go do some tourist type stuff until late tonight. I’m excited to be in our nation’s Capital and I’m pretty sure my wife is drooling with jealousy Lol

Guys, if you can get to the White House one time in your life, do it. Even just a tour. It’s a very impressive and historical place!
